At Liber8Now, our mission is simple but urgent: to improve the chances of survival during active shooter incidents—starting with K–12 schools and extending to universities, hospitals, malls, sports arenas, places of worship, commercial offices, and any environment at risk of workplace violence.

Our Story

Origins

Liber8Now was founded in September 2023 as a Delaware C-Corp with a focused mission: protect students during school shootings. While that mission remains at our core, we’ve since expanded to help protect lives in all high-risk public and private spaces.

The C3 Beginning

Our journey started with deep customer discovery and market validation. This led to the development of our first product concept: the C3 Platform—Command, Control, and Communication—designed to support emergency response teams. We released a working MVP by January 2024.

Pivot to Gunshot Detection

By February 2024, a broader and more urgent opportunity emerged: improve gunshot detection. After rigorous analysis of existing solutions, we made a bold pivot. Led by our CTO, Kuldip Pabla, we began developing the GSR8 (Gun-Shot Response 8) system. Version 1.0 was successfully released in Q1 2025.

The Problem with the Status Quo

Most gunshot detection systems in use today suffer from unreliable accuracy and frequent false alarms. Studies—including those by the University of Michigan—have shown systems falsely triggered by jackhammers, fireworks, tennis balls, and even popping trash bags. These false positives degrade trust and waste critical emergency resources. In life-threatening situations, precision is non-negotiable.

Our Solution: GSR8

GSR8 is built to solve these flaws head-on. Our system combines:

• Concussive wave analysis

• Infrared (IR) validation

• Edge computing

We also created a 20-scenario false-positive testing framework to simulate real-world triggers. GSR8 Version 1.0 passed every key test and is now deployed in the field. The result? Fewer false alerts. Faster response. Greater confidence.
